The website fomerly known as Neo-Paganism.com is now ProgressivePaganism.com. I decided to stop paying for the domain name, so the site has reverted to its original name.
Though the name has changed, the content of the site is the same. It provides an introduction to Neo-Paganism and discusses the beliefs, theology, mythology, practices, mysteries, and history of the Neo-Pagan movement. The site has 135 pages and contains a wealth of information from over 100 books and articles by academic and insiders which I drew on. The timeline alone has over 500 entries. There’s also an introduction to nature religion and deep ecology.
The religion described on the site as “Neo-Paganism” is described as “a cosmic religion oriented to the tides of nature and the timeless configurations of the psyche” (Ellwood & Partin, 1987). It is explicitly contrasted with Reconstructionist paganisms, in that Neo-Paganism is eclectic and unashamedly invented. It is also distinguished from Wicca (which it overlaps) and Heathenry (which it grew up alongside).
I created the site a few years ago and it has been a labor of love.
I like the mandala! Who’s the artist?
It’s by Glynn Gorick, the cover of Primavesi’s “Gaia’s Gift”: https://www.amazon.com/Gaias-Gift-Earth-Ourselves-Copernicus/dp/0415288355/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1533909270&sr=8-2&keywords=gaia%27s+gift

Honestly, my heart physically lept when I saw the title of this post. I was so sad when the website disappeared. I was telling someone about it today and about how great it was. Honestly, I love it. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to read something that resonates with my own worldview so much. It’s a rare thing!
